Many are busy kicking off the New Year with their resolutions to lose weight, save more money, quit smoking…These are great goals, however, what is really keeping you from achieving them? The answer to this question is what you are hanging on to. Things we hang on to drag us down, and only slow down the process of moving forward to achieving our goals.
I challenge you to think about what you could let go of in 2018 that could transform YOU. What thoughts, feelings, habits weigh you down? What is the big one? Maybe there are some small ones that could have a huge impact over time?
I will give you some examples to help you get started…
Things you could let go of:
Worry. What do you worry about? What if you could come up with a solution to ease this worry? Who could help you? What do you think you need to do, but you really don’t?
Caring what other people think. Caring what other people think can often stop you from doing things you really want to do, or even things that are good for you. The truth is, most people aren’t paying as much attention to you as you think. They are really spending more time thinking about themselves, so why spend energy caring what they think about you?
Being hard on yourself. Often thoughts of “I’m not good enough” or “I don’t deserve it.” fill people’s minds. We are often our biggest critics. Why not be your biggest fan?
Negative associations. You know who they are! The people that suck the life out of you…Find better associations and spend more time with them. Your associations have a powerful impact on your results, so if you want better results in your life, improve the quality of your associations.
Past mistakes. Learn to forgive yourself! It is virtually impossible to move forward while hanging on to mistakes with regret. Chalk it up to a great lesson and move on!
Remember, letting go can set you free and can change your life!
