Letting go of resistance is one of the most powerful concepts I can share with you. I believe it is why personal development doesn’t work for some people. They try to move forward doing the right things, however, they have not let go of the 10,000 pound weight holding them back.
Resistance to “what is” becomes that 10,000 pound weight. You know you are in resistance when you are experiencing a negative feeling like frustration, anger, or resentment. This could be a business partner, co-workers, clients, etc. Being aware is the first step. The second step is to shift your focus to the things you want and be grateful for the positive things in your life.
Years ago, I was forced to let go of my resentment on my husband when I decided I was unwilling to be without his positive traits. I had to acknowledge my anger, then shift my focus to all of his positive traits of his I was unwilling to be without. It was through this shift of focus that allowed us to work together towards the life we wanted to live together.
When you are in resistance, it is difficult to see positive opportunities. When you have let go of resistance, you are open to opportunity. As my husband and I let go of resistance on negative aspects of our life, opportunities began to present themselves, because we were taking more action. We had business brainstorming sessions, which was something that hadn’t occurred to us before, and had more solution focused conversations. We realized success was always right around the corner, we just had to get out of our own way in order to find it.
